Born in Westbury, NY, on July 15, 1956, Satriani began playing guitar first minor at the age of 14 years after was inspired by Jimi Hendrix, although at first he was interested in the drums. Quickly learn the various techniques Satriani playing guitar, he began to teach these skills to some people. Satriani find the same spirit of one of his students named Steve Vai. In the late 1970's, Satriani began teaching at Berkley and produce a number of talented guitarists such as Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Larry La Londe (Primus), David Bryson (Counting Crows), and the jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter.
In the early '80s, Satriani got a chance to work on multiple projects as well as performing on tour with Greg Kihn, he also released a solo EP in 1984 the entire production process until the releases taken care of by himself. But when one of his former students, Steve Vai, guitarist of the band performing a solo David Lee Roth, Satriani's name was becoming known as a teacher of Vai, Satriani's interest in game characters began to emerge. Period Satriani fame began with the release of his first solo album entitled 'Not of This Earth' is an automatic reaction from the community of Rock guitarist.
Name Satriani began to soar and more known around the world. Satriani also had the honor to accompany Mick Jagger performing on tour in Australia and Japan around 1987. Satriani released the album in a row in 1988 and 1989, the album 'Dreaming # 11' (1988) and the album 'Fliying in a Blue Dream'. Satriani on the album also featured as a vocalist on several songs. Career Satriani back uphill when one of his songs, entitled 'One Big Rush' became one of the movie Say Anything soundtrack.

In 1994 Satriani was featured as addisional guitar on tour after the death of Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple. Satch's also got an offer to become permanent personnel Deep Purple but the offer was declined because he prefers to keep her solo career.
In 1998 he released the album Crystal Planet. Satriani also began a project G3 with Steve Vai in 1996, an annual project Satriani with the best guitarists of the world. G3 also released their concert documentary titled G3: Live in Concert a year later. In 2000, Satriani released the album more musical, Engines of Creation, a year later followed by the album Live in San Francisco. Engines of Creation album later received the Grammy awards, after a successful tour, Satriani back to the recording studio. He began to re-generate a few studio albums: Strange Beautiful Music (2002), Electric Joe Satriani: An Anthology (2003), followed by the album Is There Love in Space (2004), Super Colossal (2005), and Satriani Live! (2006).
